Job Description: Dietary Aide/Part-Time
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, assists in meal preparation and serving meals to participants. Responsible for promoting overall cleanliness of the cafeteria to meet public health standards and regulations and ensuring cafeteria staff work in a professional and safe manner. May supervise participants working in the cafeteria, when applicable.
This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and works in close partnership with KSI Operations Management team. This position is responsible for wide range of activities including preparing and serving food to participants in day program settings, following specific dietary guidelines and assisting with tasks such as menu planning, food preparation, and sanitation. This position is a part-time position, Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a starting hourly rate of $17.50/ 3-Days, 22.50 hours week.
Essential Functions:
1. Assists in preparing and serving meals according to specific dietary plans, allergies by reviewing menus and meals for accuracy.
2. Ensures food is stored and handled properly to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
3. Assists with inventory management, including but not limited to stocking of food supplies and pantry items.
4. Adheres to all health and safety regulations while performing tasks.
5. Documents meal records and other nutritional information as necessary.
6. Maintains knowledge of procedures and protocols including federal and state specific rules and regulations.
7. Operates various kitchen appliances.
8. Performs sanitation activities in all areas associated with rules and regulations which include but not limited to cleaning and preparing service areas, utensils and dishes, sweeping and mopping kitchen area floors, disposing if trash, and performing other sanitation activities as directed by management.
9. Maintains daily cafeteria operations in a manner that ensures the highest quality food and service.
10. Ensures proper rotation and labeling of food products to reduce spoilage.
11. Assists in maintaining monthly inventory of cafeteria materials and supplies as designated.
12. Assists in point of sale and money management of register.
13. Assists in supervision of participants working in the cafeteria program.

3. Maintains specific training and/or certification applicable to position as required;
4. Conducts themselves in a positive and professional manner.
5. Completes other duties as assigned.
6. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to perform frequent reaching, bending and stooping; and must be able to do occasional pulling and pushing.
Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred; certified dietary or food safety training preferred; proficient in understanding nutrition and dietary practices; ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately; strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Two (2) years food service experience preferred. Applicant must be able to pass the following background checks; a Criminal Background check, Adult Abuse Registry check, Child Abuse Registry check and Sex Offender Listing. Possess a valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations at time of hire.
