Ready to join a six-time US Best Managed Company? KENT® Worldwide has a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a General Farm Assistant at our Research Farm in Muscatine, IA! This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This role is responsible for aspects of general livestock and crop production related to feeding, animal health, record keeping, following trial protocol, pasture maintenance, crop production, building and equipment maintenance.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain buildings and equipment associated with the Research Farm
- Assist with the maintenance and implementation of a herd health program with the assistance of the consulting veterinarian
- Assist in all areas of crop production
- Assist with the feeding and health care of all livestock
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to livestock research as designated by the nutritionist
- Assist in allotting and weighing of livestock
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by Farm Manager
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate
- Education in Ag related classes
- Ag/livestock background
- Strong organizational abilities
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs from floor to working height as job requires
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other all departments
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- High level of accuracy and careful attention to detail
- Computer knowledge and basic skills in Microsoft office
- Experience operating machinery
