- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Columbus, MS. will report to the Engineering Technical Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define project scope for initiatives such as equipment replacement, quality improvements, cost reduction, and new product development.
- Drive process and equipment innovations to improve safety, efficiency, environmental compliance, and profitability.
- Manage capital and expense projects from concept through startup, including budgeting, purchasing, and cost tracking.
- Oversee design, scheduling, and construction with a focus on safety, food quality, energy efficiency, and compliance.
- Coordinate with Operations, Environmental, Safety, and Quality teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare bids, manage contractors, and administer contracts following approved procedures.
- Supervise construction, resolve issues, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide startup support, documentation, and training, including O&M manuals and equipment lists.
- Ensure compliance with permitting, codes, regulations, and Management of Change procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external engineering firms on design, specifications, and construction management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
- Experience in project management, including directing construction-related activities, is preferred
- Understand, create, and update process flows; including documentation and standard operating procedures
- Minimum of a BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering required. Other degrees may be applicable with appropriate experience.
- Interest and general understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancing
