Summary
- The general foreman supervises a team of foremen who are responsible managing job site scheduling and real-time operations that facilitate the maximization of resources (human and equipment) to achieve safety, quality, productivity, schedule adherence and financial goals while adhering to our core values and delivering on the mission statement of Kent Power.

Essential Functions

- Responsible for ensuring that all assigned work is completed in a safe manner, on time, and within budgets while delivering on customer expectations and Kent Power standards through the management of direct and indirect reports and routine job site inspection and management. As a company leader, acts as a champion for all Kent Power initiatives, processes and programs.
- Promotes and ensures safe work practices by working collaboratively to develop safety plans, performing team safety inspections, partnering with safety, assisting in root cause analysis and by reviewing safety inspections conducted by all parties to address opportunities and identify trends.
- Facilitate and/or assist in training all team members on safety policies of Kent Power, OSHA, or the customer; strongly encourage all team members to utilize safety personnel as a necessary resource for task planning and areas of question.
- Ensure the incident communication plan is understood and followed in the event of an incident, near misses, property or equipment damage, or unplanned outages
- Ensures the work order process is being used to report maintenance issues on equipment and confirms proper equipment maintenance practices are being performed on a regular basis.
- Responsible for completing post job analysis to elevate the company standards and make more accurate, data driven decisions for future jobs including a punch list inspection to verify quality standards and providing estimators with feedback on post job comparisons to bid information.
- Responsible for the ongoing management of productivity and development of Foremen to promote improved construction methods to eliminate waste, maintain or create efficiencies, and to elevate decision-making capabilities and promoting the development of a project management mindset.
- Ensure each job site is properly staffed according to the skill sets required to successfully complete the project schedule and maximize safety, quality, and training opportunities.
- Effectively schedules all necessary subcontractors, tools, equipment, and material timely to maximize productivity and maintain the parameters of project proposals.
- Oversee the performance management and development of all team members by providing growth and learning opportunities, and monitor all apprentice progress by reviewing and assisting with evaluations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all clients, sub-contractors, and vendors to promote a positive business relationship and company reputation.
- Provide all necessary project information to crew foremen so they can be successful, such as: copies of quotes, POs, bid documents etc.
- Partners with regional manager, project management, and estimating teams by attending pre-bid events, analyzing potential hazards or risks on the job site, and communicate details, thoughts, and concerns to project estimators on current bids, collaborates with project management on project schedules, identify scope changes, supports the estimating department to establish pricing estimates, and general support to flow of project information.
- Ensure the timely submission of all necessary paperwork to the office including weekly crew reports, time, safety, equipment, expense, and productivity, etc.

Supervisor Responsibility
- This position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position typically oversees 5-8 foreman, 5-8 jobsites, and crews of various size on each site, but is subject to change with natural fluctuations in work.
Work Environment
- This job primarily operates on job sites where the employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position routinely works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally this position is required to work in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, tablets, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-5 years as an acting foreman
- OHSA 30
Preferred Education and Experience
- 5-8 years as an acting foreman
- Journeyman ticket or equivalent status
