What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty: Piano Accompanist (September 2026 - May 2027) position at KENT PLACE SCHOOL?
Kent Place School is seeking a collaborative pianist for choral accompanying throughout our JPK - 12th-grade school. Ideal candidates should have experience accompanying school choirs in a broad range of musical styles, working with conductors in a supportive educational environment. We have excellent grand pianos and a collaborative and engaging music faculty, and we anticipate this position will grow over the next few years.
Compensation: $100/hour
Skills
- Excellent sight-reading skills
- Flexibility
- Ability to play and improvise in pop, jazz, and musical theater styles
- Ability to work from lead sheets and scores
- Knowledge of current treble choral repertoire
Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of three years of performance experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in performance or in Music Education/Teaching is preferred.
