Reports to: Bar Manager and Board of Directors
Job Summary:
Serve the patrons of the Lodge’s social quarters operations according to Grand Lodge Statutes, the Lodge’s Bylaws and House Rules, and state/local law. Focusing on quality presentation and Member expectations at the bar, dining room and hall rental operations. Must be available to work at nights and on weekends as a part-time, fill-in bartender to substitute for other bartenders. Ensure maximum Member and guest satisfaction. Secure and protect the Lodge’s assets including inventory, cash, facilities and equipment.
Job Tasks (Duties):
- Service
- Bartend and provide exceptional customer service to Members and their guests within the social quarters by providing drinks and food ordered.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance, to include wearing Elks Lodge attire for events.
- Prepare drink orders for Members according to specified recipes using measuring systems, and in a timely manner.
- Prepare bar pizzas and restock popcorn when requested.
- Sell tickets for any Elks Lodge event or games (Queen of Hearts, Cash Bash, etc.)
- Answer the telephone and take messages when necessary.
- Facilitate slot machine payments and Maryland Lottery transactions.
- Inventory
- Stock bar at the end of each shift and complete side work daily using opening/closing lists.
- Inventory bar supplies and advise Bar Manager when needed supplies are low.
- Stock areas with glassware, silverware, ice, and supplies in their respective area to facilitate prompt service.
- Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.
- Cleanliness
- Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar units, tables, glassware, etc.
- Certification & Overservice
- Must pass the ServSafe Alcohol training and certification exam, for which the Lodge will reimburse the fee.
- Prevent patrons from being overserved, regardless of their position or status within the Lodge or Order.
- The Lodge uses Toast as our point-of-sale system, and proficiency in its usage is imperative.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
