Duties & Responsibilities
Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required. RI State RN Licensure and RI State Lactation Consultant Certificate required. RN- IBCLC is also required.

Per Diem Position
Responsible for providing education and training to patients, staff and community regarding breastfeeding.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs rounds on breastfeeding mothers to reinforce and augment teaching.
- Function as resource person to patients, physicians, nurses, hospital staff in general, and to HME for their breastfeeding product station.
- Coordinates and implements pre-natal breastfeeding classes, as well as provides staff education and information.
- Conducts home/hospital visits and/or continued telephone consultation after discharge as warranted.
- Maintains documentation and statistics.
- Reviews and evaluates breastfeeding policies, procedures, equipment, videos, products and literature with recommendations as necessary.
- Maintains communication with community support groups and refers patients to them.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
