- This position is designed and intended to be performed on-site in Muscatine, IA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee day-to-day export transportation operations for all KENT WORLDWIDE subsidiary companies, ensuring efficient execution and service performance.
- Manage export equipment capacity and IPI/Ramp operations, coordinating with intermodal partners, ocean carriers, and agents to ensure timely shipments while minimizing additional costs.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and NVOCCs to support current and future business needs.
- Manage Dangerous Goods ISO tank shipments and ensure compliance with all applicable DG regulations.
- Oversee Canada and Mexico cross-border customs compliance and export documentation requirements, including customs laws, tariffs, EEI/ITN filings, and international trade regulations.
- Manage export freight costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and leverage trade data and market trends to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts related to international trade, including transportation delays, regulatory changes, and supply chain disruptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree required, Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is required.
- Proven expertise in advanced data analysis, data management, and/or applications of these tools is beneficial (e.g. business intelligence, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics AX, D365 etc).
- 5 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent discipline
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience working with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, autonomous environment
- Excellent decision making, people management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Must be a team player, and understand impact of others on complex business needs
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
