What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Registered Dietitian position at Kent County?
As part of an interdisciplinary team, the individual will provide WIC Program services to clients of the Health Department. Duties will include hemoglobin and anthropometric assessments, nutrition assessment and counseling, high risk nutrition counseling, breastfeeding and lactation support and providing medical and social referrals.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, no weekends, nights or holidays. Will be required to work from 10am - 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.Bachelor and/or Master’s degree from an accredited program or institution in Human Nutrition or with Human Nutrition emphasis and current certification as a Registered Dietitian. Desire breastfeeding educational certifications (IBCLC, CLS, CLE). Experience working with maternal, infant and child population desired. Computer literacy, including working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database management required. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to be highly efficient by ensuring attention to detail is required. Must interact positively and professionally with internal and external customers, and members of the public from widely divergent cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to provide client services from a culturally aware and client driven perspective to deliver excellent customer service while following HIPAA guidelines is essential. Must be able to provide services to clients in a variety of County locations and possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license.
