What are the responsibilities and job description for the Circuit Court Clerk position at Kent County?
The successful candidate will provide skilled and complex legal clerical duties for the 17th Circuit Court Case Management Department. Duties will include preparing and mailing neglect summons; motions and orders for alternative service; preparing publications and notices; appointing counsel for neglect and abuse cases; scheduling neglect and abuse preliminary hearings; and preparing and mailing a variety of orders and other pleadings. The successful candidate will have regular contact with judicial staff, attorneys, agencies, and other court personnel. This individual may also be responsible for performing miscellaneous duties for the court as needed.
Required:High School Diploma or GED combined with post-secondary training in legal or court procedures.

Two (2) years para-professional experience in a legal environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Requires skill in filing, maintaining office records and operating various office equipment. Must be self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse populations are essential.
