The Training Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and development of all Operational, Safety and New Site Transition training requirements. This will include development of a training strategy, qualification program and new site development and checkout program. This individual acts as the primary contact and must be willing to support company-wide continuous training and development excellence.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Columbus, MS.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary site training contact for internal and external stakeholders (Kent employees, contractors and new site launch).
- Develop and maintain the site training and qualification programs for operations, safety and development.
- Conduct incident investigations including creating, assigning, and tracking action items to completion.
- Create and implement job task aids while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
- Lead competency walkthroughs and inspections to ensure competency
- Create documentation and lead the company's training procedures and qualification program
- Direct the development and establish clear objectives for training-related topics.
- Sponsor 5S and other duties as necessary
- Actively engage as an active member of the Kent training network including meeting attendance.
- Foster training engagement by actively encouraging and supporting training and qualification initiatives
- Support the site technical team and translate findings to the training and qualification program.
- Provide training on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation.
- Lead daily walk-throughs of production areas including performing safety observations.
- Advocate for plant ergonomic initiatives and area recommendations.
- Direct the development and establish clear objectives for training-related topics.
EDUCATION:
A minimum of an associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
