Job Title: Sitework and Utility Foreman

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Site and Utility Foreman who excels in heavy equipment operation, GPS setup, project tracking, and managing schedules to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will lead utility crews on diverse construction projects, ensuring work meets design specifications, stays on schedule, and maintains high standards of quality. This role is essential in keeping projects on track by monitoring progress, tracking resources, and ensuring timely project milestones.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate utility crews on-site for the installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems, as well as site grading and preparation.
  • Operate heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, bulldozers) and manage GPS setup for accurate grading, layout, and positioning.
  • Set up and calibrate GPS equipment to ensure precision in utility installations and site grading, making necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
  • Track daily project progress, equipment usage, and material consumption, ensuring all information is logged and communicated to project management to support adherence to the project schedule.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, surveyors, and engineers to align on project goals, timelines, and GPS layouts, and adjust resources as necessary to keep projects on schedule.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections to verify that work meets project specifications, maintains quality standards, and stays aligned with the project timeline.
  • Train and guide crew members on GPS setup, machine operation, and site safety protocols, emphasizing efficiency and schedule adherence.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues related to GPS equipment, site layout, or project tracking to prevent delays and keep the project on course.
  • Enforce OSHA and site safety standards, ensuring a safe and productive work environment that minimizes downtime and keeps projects moving forward.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site and utility construction, with at least 2 years in a foreman or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in operating heavy equipment and setting up GPS equipment for site grading and utility layout.
  • Strong background in project tracking, including daily progress reporting, resource tracking, and time management to ensure timely project completion.
  • Ability to manage and adjust resources effectively to meet project schedules.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction management software for project tracking, scheduling, and GPS layout.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and construction best practices.
  • Effective leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to direct and motivate a team.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale civil or commercial construction projects.
  • Certifications related to heavy equipment operation or GPS technology setup.
  • Advanced skills in project tracking software and GPS setup.
