What You Need:
The Child Care Lead Aide is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students in the before and after school program. This role includes leading activities, supporting student development, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure a positive experience for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including academic support, recreation, and enrichment opportunities
- Provide a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for all students
- Supervise students during program hours, including transitions, snacks, and outdoor play
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
- Maintain accurate attendance and program records
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student participation and behavior
- Support and guide program staff to ensure consistency and quality of care
- Ensure compliance with district policies and licensing requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces
- Performs other such duties as may reasonably be assigned
Preferred Skills/Certification
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with school-age children required
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Ability to work successfully with students, staff, administrators, and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Flexible, dependable, and collaborative
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
