Coater Operator

Kent Adhesive Products Company (KAPCO) is a growing company in Kent Ohio. Kapco is a custom coater and converter of flexible pressure-sensitive materials. Founded in 1974 in Kent, Ohio, KAPCO is an innovative business that continues to define higher standards for adhesive applications. Kapco is servicing the Digital Media, Computer Aided Signage Media, Book Preservation, and the Custom Coating and Converting of pressure sensitive materials for a variety of markets including medical, electronic, automotive, and industrial. All of the company's operations are located in a modern 120,000-square-foot facility.

We are currently seeking Coater Operators who are available to work 1st or 3rd shift. We will train the right candidate - must be mechanically inclined.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS:

· Experience with Gravure, Roll or other coating application methods or web printing operations is preferable

· Helpful to have skill in operating coaters, rulers, shears, calipers, micrometers, spanner wrench, and basic hand tools

KNOWLEDGE:

· Ability to work safely around machines with rotating parts and pinch points

· Knowledge of measuring to 1/32" with a ruler

· Helpful to have some knowledge of measuring to /-.005" with calipers or micrometers

· Helpful to have some knowledge of continuous machine operation

ABILITIES:

· Operate machinery according to specifications

· Calculate material yields

· Maintain good hand-eye coordination

· Maintain good manual dexterity

· Understand and follow written and oral instructions

· Carry out assigned projects to their completion

· Pay close attention to detail

· Detect product defects

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Graduation from high school or GED equivalent

· Helpful to have some training in machine operations

· Helpful to have some related experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Frequently lift up to 70 lbs. and move in excess of 100 lbs.
