NOW HIRING: Part-time Maintenance Technician
At the Kenosha YMCA, we believe that well-maintained, clean, and safe spaces are essential to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in supporting this mission by ensuring the upkeep, safety, appearance, and functionality of our facilities and grounds. This is a part-time weekend position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine daily, weekly and seasonal maintenance and cleaning duties for facilities and grounds.
- Communicate the status of maintenance and repair projects clearly and regularly with leadership and relevant staff.
- Complete assigned projects in a timely, efficient and professional manner to minimize disruption to YMCA operations.
- Perform pool testing and monitor proper function of all pool and whirlpool equipment.
- Support seasonal facility readiness by coordinating tasks such as snow/ice removal, lawn care and outdoor area upkeep.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance and custodial supplies and communicate to leadership
- Point of contact for all outside contractors working in facility or grounds.
- Serve as the line of response for facility emergencies during weekend operating hours.
Qualifications
- Experienced Professional: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in facility management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Three years of experience in facility maintenance.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance areas.
- Pool operator certification required within 120 days of employment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Valid drivers license with record that meets YMCA standards.
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
