CUSTODIAL STAFF - FEMALE, Weeknights and Weekends

FEMALE Custodian

Female Custodian needed, evening and weekend availability required.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

• A high sense of responsibility and initiative to work independently and productively 
• Respond to immediate janitorial issues 
• Ensure facilities are generally sanitary and paper supplies are stocked for membership areas 
• General laundry for the organization 
• Occasional snow removal duties 
• Party set-up and/or take-down 
• Cleaning the facility via cleaning the locker rooms, bathrooms, program areas, floor maintenance (sweeping, mopping, etc), emptying trash receptacles, pool deck maintenance, window care and other general cleaning duties. 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS  

• Previous custodial experience preferred 
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, navigate stairs, and ability work in wide range of temperatures  
• Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law 
• Reliable transportation

1. Six months or more of related experience preferred.
2. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
3. Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
4. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
5. Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
6. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
7. CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 30 days of hire.
