Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager/Director, Carpenters are responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of all wooden structures found within the park location.

Roles & Responsibilities:
A Carpenter ensures the highest standard of park operational repair and maintenance by meeting all required guidelines.
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager/Director, Carpenters are responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of all wooden structures found within the park location.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry-related repair and maintenance throughout the park
- Construct, modify, and repair structural systems of buildings/ attractions
- Perform preventive maintenance through thorough inspections of all wooden structures, including, but not limited to, buildings, interior finishing work, and roofing
- Inspect wooden roller coaster tracks and attractions daily; assist with required repairs and properly document all hazards that are identified
- Conduct daily safety inspections throughout the park
- Erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and other building materials using various hand and power tools
- Select building materials and supplies needed to complete specific projects
- Safely and effectively operate power tools and heavy equipment normally associated with the trade
- Assemble framework and utilize tools for repairs.
- Construct, modify, repair structural systems of buildings/ attractions
- Utilize basic measurement skills as they pertain to carpentry work (e.g. for blueprints, elevations, and/or identifying materials needed)
- Fabricate and install signs, stairs, furniture, walls, and structures as assigned
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, framing, flooring and trim
- Utilize daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance logs to track work that has been performed on each amusement park ride and attraction
- Promptly notify maintenance and/or park leadership of any escalated maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Maintain all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner
- Safely operate company owned trucks, forklifts, and other equipment
- All other duties and projects assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
- 2-Year Vocational, Trade School, or Associate’s degree preferred but not required.
- 2 years of previous maintenance or carpentry work experience highly desired
- Previous work experience performing maintenance or carpentry on roller coasters, rides, or other attractions preferred
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must be safety conscious and adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
- Ability to interact with other team members, guests, contractors, and suppliers in a positive, professional manner
- Ability to comprehend blueprints and schematic diagrams and follow the manufacturers’ guidelines for each piece of equipment or attraction
- General working knowledge of carpentry practices and techniques is desired
- Must be able to operate trade equipment and make repairs while following all company policies and procedures
- Ability to utilize common power and hand tools in a safe and effective manner
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time during the day
- Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more
- Ability to climb roller coasters
- Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
- Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
- Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
- Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
- Frequent interaction with all outdoor and indoor areas of the park
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
- Subject to working at significant heights, reaching over 100 feet above ground level
- Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, machinery, motorized equipment, and vehicles
- Subject to the handling of and exposure to dust, dirt, grease, oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners
