Roles & Responsibilities
- Installation: Assemble and install pipe systems, water heaters, toilets, sinks, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Maintenance & Repair: Inspect plumbing systems, locate the source of leaks or clogs, and repair or replace broken parts.
- Diagnostics: Use testing equipment, cameras, and pressure gauges to identify plumbing malfunctions.
- Blueprint Reading: Study and interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out plumbing layouts.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to state and local building codes, regulations, and occupational safety standards.
- Client Service: Provide cost estimates, prepare bids, and explain repair options to to Management
- Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes while paying close attention to other existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring, existing HVAC, etc.)
- Install and maintain water supply systems
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks, stoppages, etc.)
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc.
- Repair appliances and fixtures (e.g. sinks, toilets, dishwashers, etc.) as needed
- Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (air-conditioning units, radiators etc.)
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, local, and company policies, procedures, and regulations regarding plumbing systems
- Promptly notify maintenance and/or park leadership of any escalated maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Actively maintain safety and cleanliness standards in all shop and work areas
- Assist all other Maintenance and trades team members with completing maintenance projects
- All other duties and projects assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
- Diploma from a trade school, successful completion of apprenticeship, or valid license/certification to practice plumbing profession required
- 3-5 years plumber experience, highly desired
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must be safety conscious and adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Ability to interact with other team members, guests, contractors, and suppliers in a positive, professional manner
- Ability to troubleshoot issues clearly, calmly, accurately, and safely, while in the presence of guests and fellow team members
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
- Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances
- Ability to safely and efficiently handle all plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
- Must provide own tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, pipe cutters, standard socket set up to 1 inch, and metric socket set up to 24mm.
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time during the day
- Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 100 pounds or more
- Ability to work in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain
- Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
- Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
- Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
- Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
- Frequent interaction with all outdoor and indoor areas of the park
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
- Frequent exposure to sharp, very hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
- Potential exposure to potential poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness
- Subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations
- Subject to constant repetitive motion, very high noise levels, vibrations, machinery, and motorized equipment
- Subject to the handling of and exposure to dust, dirt, grease, oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners
