The Park Services Manager ensures the proper execution of the Park Services program to ensure a clean, green, and visually appealing environment for all guests who visit Adventureland Park. This position is responsible for overseeing continuous cleaning services throughout the park, while also providing leadership and guidance to all members of the Park Services team. Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the Park Services team, along with any other assigned business units
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of [Park]’s core values
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
- Manage and control all financial aspects of assigned departments while maximizing revenue and cost savings opportunities; maintain constant vigilance over departmental spending and budgets
- Act as a strategic visionary to implement measures that will favorably impact process, people, and/or profit
- Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all Park Services positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.
- Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Iowa law
- Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
- Ensure that the daily cleaning/nightly cleaning protocols are being completed according to Park standards
- Proactively monitor park facility appearance and issue work assignments as needed to correct deficiencies and improve park presentation.
- Audit restrooms, eating areas, and overall park cleanliness
- Perform whatever duties are necessary to ensure park cleanliness
- Proactively monitor the Park for safety hazards (e.g. wet floors, tripping hazards, etc.)
- Maintain records of all work completed and safety inspections
- Coordinate vendor services including trash removal and janitorial supplies.
- Address any escalated guest concerns and criticisms with a high degree of professionalism and propose solutions to deescalate the situation.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, DEP, ADA, and other applicable standards and regulations.
- Monitor inspection forms for proper documentation of restroom and park cleaning.
- Continuously monitors parks for safety hazards (e.g. wet floors, tripping hazards, etc.)
- Courteously resolve guest questions and concerns, and assist with lost children
- All other duties and special projects assigned by leadership
Education And Experience
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
- College degree preferred; Equivalent work experience will be considered
- 3 years’ experience in park operations or experience in building and facility maintenance required.
- 2 year of previous supervisory experience required.
- Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment
- Must display a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and convey a professional presence in compliance with all park guidelines
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Software, including Outlook and Excel
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of time
- Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more
- Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
- Frequent exposure to all outdoor and indoor areas of the park
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
- Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, highly populated areas, and exposure to various cleaning chemicals
- Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
