Purpose: The Security Service Technician is responsible for basic Security system installations.
Essential Duties include the following:
- Reads and understands basic security drawings
- Performs field device terminations
- Successfully follow drawings and instructions for wiring a maglock circuit
- Performs Low-Voltage cabling, wiring, and cable management
- Measures AC, DC voltage
- Performs programming within LenelS2 systems
- Measures continuity and resistance
- Understands and can define Fail Safe vs. Fail Secure devices
- Understands and can define normally open and normally closed devices
- Understands Series and parallel circuit wiring
- Completes daily update log and project status
- Develops exceptional customer focus
- Maintains awareness of jobsite surroundings
- Consistently meets the needs of the Project Manager
- Assists Project Managers with weekly review of job status
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- 1-2 years performing related functions within the Security industry
- LenelS2 programming certifications preferred
- Basic understanding of MS Office Software especially Excel
- Demonstrated ability as a team-player
- Able to multi-task and adapt to changing demands
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with high volume workload while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
- Should have, or be willing to obtain OSHA thirty certification
- Security Technician’s will be responsible for providing basic hand tools
- The ability to work under pressure
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
- Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
- Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
- Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
- Able to get to customer job sites
Work Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
