Deli Cook

The Deli Cook is responsible to perform duties as directed by the Deli Manager and/or Asst. Deli Manager for the successful operation of the Deli department. The Deli Cook is responsible to see that all Kennie's customers are provided with top quality products and the best customer service available.

Requirements:

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Some experience within the operations of a deli department is desired. Must be eighteen(18) years of age to operate the slicer equipment.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions for equipment, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively to our customers and employees.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Set up hot foods case for the day.
• Wait on customers by slicing deli meats and cheeses to their satisfaction and also by dishing up and weighing salads from the cold deli case.
• Keep the food service section well stocked with product.
• Assist in making, wrapping and pricing pizzas.
• Assist in making sandwiches, subs, etc., and packaging and pricing of the same.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in sales area.
• Wrap lunch meats and cheeses at closing and put them in cooler.
• Tear down chip section at closing.
• Cooperate with fellow department employees and with other departments when inter-departmental or store wide promotions warrant.
• Responsible to obey all safety standards as outlined by the company.
• Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Deli Manager, Assistant Deli Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
