Sales & Customer Growth Insights Intern

Kennicott is a leading wholesale floral company with 14 locations across the United States. We partner with growers around the world to provide fresh flowers and floral products to professional florists, designers, and retailers. Our business combines fast-paced operations, strong customer relationships, and a deep understanding of seasonal and market-driven demand.

Interns at Kennicott gain hands-on exposure to a real operating business, work alongside experienced sales and operations professionals, and contribute to projects that have a direct impact on customers and company encourage growth.

Internship Focus

This project-based internship is designed for students who want real-world business experience and the opportunity to contribute meaningful insights. The primary focus of this internship is to explore why certain customer accounts identified as growth opportunities are not increasing their purchasing as expected. The intern will help gather and analyze information to better understand customer behavior and identify potential opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1 – Onsite Learning:
• Work onsite in an entry-level Customer Service Representative (CSR) role
• Learn how orders move from customer request through fulfillment
• Gain exposure to products, seasonality, and customer ordering patterns

Phase 2 – Project Work:  Hybrid
• Review and analyze purchasing patterns of selected customer accounts
• Help collect insights through data review and internal collaboration
• Summarize findings related to barriers, trends, and opportunities for growth
• Prepare a final summary or presentation of insights for Sales and Operations leaders

Qualifications:

Who Should Apply

  • Those currently completing or have completed Sophomore year and who are curious, analytical, and interested in how businesses operate and grow.
  • Open to all majors. Those who may benefit the most from this internship have interest in Sales, Business, Logistics, Analytics, Agriculture or related fields may benefit
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable learning through observation and asking questions

Details

Location: Onsite Chicago/Hybrid

Duration: Summer internship (approximately June - August)

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
