What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Ed Teacher (Emotional Support) position at Kennett Middle School?

Kennett Consolidated School District is seeking a dynamic teacher who will nurture, prepare, and empower ALL students and staff to succeed in their academic, social, and emotional journey. The ideal candidate is an engaging, creative, patient, teacher to work in our special education program. A teacher who exhibits a belief in the importance of relationships and resiliency through a student-centered approach will be able to successfully support the district’s mission and vision.


Kennett's uniquely diverse student population makes applicants considered to be fluent or bilingual highly sought.  Applicants with at least three (3) Spanish courses at the college/university level or who have a command of conversational Spanish are encouraged to apply.

 

The special education teacher has not only instructional and caseload responsibilities, but will also be expected to co-teach wih their general ed counterparts and to appropriately supervise and monitor the other adults in the classroom (paraprofessionals, 1:1 PCAs, Behavioral Supports, etc.)

 

Understanding and adherence to all PA and Federal laws surrounding IDEA are critical to the success of this candidate. 

 

Interested applicants must have a valid, active PA Special Education Certificate (PK-12 or 7-12) as well as current clearances, Acts 34, 114, 151 and 168.
