We are a well established and growing endocrinology practice seeking an experienced Referral Coordinator to join our team. The Referral Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely and accurate referrals and authorizations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process a high volume of referrals and prior authorizations
- Verify insurance requirements for referrals and prior authorizations
- Communicate effectively with patients, PCP offices, and insurance companies
- Proactively follow up on pending referrals to avoid delays in patient care
- Accurately document all activity in our EMR
- Work closely with front desk and clinical staff to maintain an efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of referral coordination experience in a specialty medical office
- Strong understanding of insurance plans, including HMO/PPO and authorization requirements
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
