Description
Kennedy Mechanical is currently looking to hire a VRF Technician for our Service Department. A VRF Technician maintains and repairs Variable Refrigerant Flow HVAC Systems, focusing on complex commercial setups, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, refrigerant handling, electrical work, and ensuring energy efficiency while interacting with clients and adhering to safety. Key duties involve system commissioning, preventative maintenance, record-keeping, and resolving issues in both independent and team settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing & Commissioning : Servicing VRF units, piping, and controls per specifications, and commission systems for optimal performance
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine checks (filters, refrigerant levels, cleaning) and perform complex repairs on VRF/VRV systems
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues using specialized tools and software
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers, explaining work, addressing concerns, and potentially training users
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all service, repair, and installation activities
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and adhere to building codes
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, refrigerant cycles, electrical systems, and VRF technology
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software
- Customer service skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Technical aptitude
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Tasks include Lifting, Digging, Climbing Ladders, and Entering Small or Confined Spaces
- Ability to Lift, Pull, Carry, Push up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to Lift, Pull, Carry, Push over 50 lbs. with assistance of others and or equipment
- Ability to complete repetitive tasks which may include overhead or awkward positioning
- High School diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 10 Certified (Preferred)
- EPA Certified (Preferred)
