Safety Coordinator

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (45 hours per week)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Coordinator to help maintain a safe and compliant work environment across our manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial safety, metal fabrication environments, and OSHA standards. This role requires regular travel between facilities, conducting inspections, coordinating safety initiatives, and supporting compliance programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- General knowledge of OSHA regulations and OSHA 30 principles
- General knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant safety or manufacturing experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry/reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly employee policy audits
- Rotate between multiple company facilities to support safety initiatives
- Perform daily fire extinguisher inspections
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist and notify appropriate leadership
- Inspect overhead cranes, including latches, cables, and other safety components
- Lead weekly safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture
- Compile safety data and submit reports to the Quality Manager for analysis
- Assist with the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program
- Complete Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) reporting requirements
- Verify completion of daily forklift inspections
- Perform daily and weekly facility safety inspections
- Coordinate safety activities and communicate findings to the Quality Manager
- Complete other duties as assigned
