Job Title: ABA Billing Supervisor
Position Summary:
The ABA Billing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ABA billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement across multiple payers. The ABA Billing Supervisor will lead the billing team, manage workflows, and maintain payer compliance standards specific to Applied Behavior Analysis services. This role requires several years of ABA billing experience, strong knowledge of insurance requirements, and hands-on expertise in CentralReach and Waystar.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily ABA billing operations, including claim submission, payment posting, and denial management
Set up and maintain accurate billing codes, CPT codes, modifiers, and payer-specific procedures
Oversee the configuration and maintenance of billing settings within CentralReach
Conduct regular audits of previous billings to ensure compliance and identify revenue recovery opportunities
Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments
Ensure billing accuracy for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and managed care plans
Train and support billing staff on ABA-specific billing processes
Monitor aging reports and implement corrective action plans
Collaborate with clinical and authorization teams to ensure proper documentation supports claims
Manage clearinghouse processes and submissions through Waystar
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3–5 years of ABA billing experience required
Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
Extensive hands-on experience with CentralReach ABA billing
Strong working knowledge of Waystar clearinghouse systems
Proven experience setting up billing codes, modifiers, and payer procedures
Demonstrated experience auditing prior billing and correcting systemic errors
Deep understanding of CPT codes related to ABA services (e.g., 97151, 97153, 97154, 97155, 97156, 97157, 97158)
Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial payer requirements
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
