Veterinary Receptionist/Customer Service Rep Full-Time

We are a small central Maine animal practice whose primary focus is on dogs and cats. Our practice has been rooted in the community for over 85 years and is known for our excellent customer service, caring personnel, and friendly atmosphere. We have a large, bright, state-of-the-art attractive office that makes for a very comfortable workplace.

Job Type: Full-Time. Some evening hours, coverage during staff members' vacations or other needs of the business. No weekends.

Candidate must have ability to work well under pressure, be able to multi-task exceptionally well, learn the specifics of a detail-oriented job (memorization is key) and then apply the training appropriately . Ability to handle a multi-line phone system and operate a Windows-based computer system. Duties include but not limited to: answering phone calls, efficiently invoice and process transactions, scheduling appointments, providing product education/sales, problem solving, process orders, prioritize work flow, cleaning, and meeting goals. Due to the training process, we ask for only serious applicants who are willing to make a working commitment with a minimum of 2 years.

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have 1 - 2 years experience working in the veterinary field. Rate of pay commensurate with having veterinary experience. However, we are willing to train the right person possessing at least 2 years prior Administrative Assistant experience, particularly in the medical field. (Please know that does not mean the same thing as customer service.) Pay scale negotiable based on candidate's level of experience, proven ability to learn criteria in a timely manner and demonstration of skills required.
