Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social interaction, creativity, and physical activity
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining vigilant supervision
- Facilitate structured activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, or storytime to encourage learning and fun
- Support children with their individual needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral management strategies
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to foster a positive environment
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance to promote respectful interactions and cooperation
- Maintain cleanliness of activity areas and ensure all equipment is used safely and appropriately
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) to ensure child safety at all times
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle multiple children confidently
- Ability to work effectively with children requiring special education or additional support services
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with children and parents
- Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed for program schedules
