What are the responsibilities and job description for the KVCC Paramedic Faculty (Full-time) position at Kennebec Valley Community College?
Title: KVCC Paramedic Faculty (Full-time)
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System Trustees and the MEA Faculty Unit.
Responsibilities: Performs duties assigned under the direction and delegation of the program director. These duties may include teaching paramedic course(s), assisting with AEMT course(s), and/or assisting in coordination of the didactic, lab, clinical and/or field internship instruction. Schedule may include day, evening and online classes.
Minimum Qualifications:
The qualified candidate must have:
- Associate degree (bachelor's degree preferred).
- Licensed at the Paramedic level
- Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator (IC) license.
- Knowledge of instructional methods, and
- 2 years teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the delivery of pre-hospital emergency care at the paramedic level.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Recommended qualifications include:
- Understanding of the CoAEMSP standards and accreditation process
- Knowledge of National EMS Curriculum
- NREMT certification
- American Heart Association instructor for ACLS, PALS, and CPR
- National Association of EMT instructor for PHTLS, AMLS, and EPC
