We are seeking a full-time Infusion Pharmacy Technician to support the preparation and delivery of compounded sterile medications in a clean-room environment. This position will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, company procedures, and confidentiality standards.
This is a full-time position with hours of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
This position pays $18.50/hr-20/hr depending on experience.
Summary of Essential Functions:
- Compound medications in a clean-room environment under general supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist with processing IV orders in CareTend when needed.
- Pick orders from Compounding Record and/or Delivery Ticket, reviews for accuracy.
- Ensure appropriate refill of orders.
- Provide clients with drug information sheets, pump literature, etc.
- Program infusion pumps according to orders.
- Monitor and maintain inventory; orders and updates computer inventory as needed.
- Process returns
- Ensure adequate supply of disposable items and ensure kits are stocked and ready to be "picked."
- Provide annual preventative maintenance on infusion pumps, and documents actions accordingly.
- Take responsibility for self-protection while working in hazardous situations, and practices universal precautions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and rights.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Computer literate, skilled in basic math, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills
- Prior experience in retail pharmacy, compounding, or related medical experience preferred.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Standard office and sterile room environment with minimal to moderate noise level. Sterile room entry requires donning personal protective equipment. May include lifting moderately heavy boxes.
