Kennebec Behavioral Health, established in 1960 to provide comprehensive behavioral health services and named one of Best Places to Work in Maine for the last 5 years, and recently recognized as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), is currently hiring a part-time (32-hour/week) School-based Community Health Worker (CHW) for the Oakland/China schools. The CHW will provide care coordination to middle and high-school youth receiving school-based tele-counseling services. They will also work alongside the Tele-Counseling Clinician and school personnel to facilitate and support program referrals as well as the provision of behavioral health services within the school setting. The CHW will develop a partnership with the youth and family to assist in the completion of agency documentation, coordination of safe and appropriate access to counseling sessions and referrals for other needed services, as identified by the treatment team. Additionally, the CHW will facilitate the scheduling of sessions and data collection for project evaluation. Other responsibilities include participation in team meetings and school events, as applicable.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree with BHP or eligible to receive BHP provisional. Experience working with at-risk youth and families preferred as well as experience working within a school setting. A successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, be adaptable and enjoy working as part of a team.
