We are currently seeking a Patient Financial Services (PFS) / Collections Representative. The position is responsible for processing all work related to the Self-Pay and Collections process, while providing support to other billing staff as needed. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate billing, effective collections, and positive communication with clients regarding their accounts. This is a full-time position, working five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Billing Services: run, review, and mail patient statements daily, ensuring accuracy and completeness, update tracking spreadsheets daily for statements mailed and payments collected; work closed accounts and initiate the collections process when appropriate; accept credit card payments over the phone and complete daily cash sheets. Billing Issue Resolution: manage accounts receivable in accordance with agency standards; access and utilize available online inquiry systems; assist other staff with verifying MaineCare coverage, as needed.
Additional Responsibilities include: contact clients to establish and manage payment arrangements; complete special projects and other miscellaneous assignments as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associates degree, or a minimum of three (3) years of related and relevant experience
- Strong data entry skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
