The Kenilworth Park District is seeking a mature, dynamic, motivated, energetic, fun, and responsible Assistant-Director to lead the Kenilworth Little Springs summer camp program for campers ages 3 to Kindergarten. This is a seasonal, part-time position with the Kenilworth Park District that will work closely with the Kenilworth Park District seasonal staff.
The Kenilworth Little Springs camp has been a part of the Kenilworth Park District for 30 years.
Little Springs is an 8-week-long summer camp that runs from June 12 – August 4, 2023. The camp starts at 9 AM and has two release options 12:00 pm or the extended day option of 1:30 PM.
The Camp Assistant Director is responsible for planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating summer camp activities that contribute to the well-being, growth, and development of children ages 3 to Kindergarten. Prior to the start of the camp season, the Assistant Director is expected to work as a part of a team that consists of full-time Park District staff members. The Assistant Directors will work with staff to help with the planning of the camp curriculum and any other duties involved in preparing for the season.
The Assistant Director must be 21 years or older, possess a valid driver’s license, have a minimum of two years of experience supervising staff and children, and have a college degree in Education, Recreation, or a related field. Candidates who do not retain an Education, Recreation, or related degree but have qualified experience will be considered at the discretion of the hiring authority.
