We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Counter Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting walk-in customers, providing expert advice, and performing lock and key services—including key cutting, lock rekeying, and related retail support.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers, assess their needs, recommend solutions, provide accurate estimates, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Key Cutting & Duplication: Accurately cut and duplicate keys, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Lock Rekeying: Rekey residential and commercial locks with precision; disassemble and reassemble locks efficiently.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed on the latest lock and key products, technologies, and security solutions.
- Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels, order supplies, and perform regular inventory checks.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and comply with local and state locksmith regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior locksmithing or key cutting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of lock and key systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with locksmith tools and equipment; knowledge of security systems and access control a plus.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.

Hourly Rate: $23.00-$25.00 DOE
Hours: Standard business hours are 8am-5pm
