SUMMARY
The Delivery Driver supports the Transportation and Warehouse teams by operating company vehicles to deliver product to stores in a timely and efficient manner. This position will primarily perform extra and overflow deliveries, load, and unload trailers, and provide coverage for other drivers during absences and vacations. The work schedule is subject to change based on business needs, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and short-notice adjustments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery & Coverage Responsibilities
- Performs extra deliveries and additional pick-ups as assigned.
- Provides route coverage for other drivers during vacations, call-outs, and leaves of absence.
- Delivers flowers to multiple store locations to meet store requirements and deadlines.
- Communicates promptly with Warehouse, Dispatcher and Transportation Managers regarding delivery delays, discrepancies, or route concerns.
Loading, Unloading & Equipment Handling
- Loads and unloads trailers, pallets, product carts, and other items safely and efficiently.
- Pulls prepared orders from the cooler according to designated invoices.
- Counts and verifies product against invoices; reports discrepancies or quality issues before delivery.
- Handles products in a manner that minimizes damage and maintains quality standards.
Vehicle & Equipment Safety
- Ensures equipment is in optimum operating condition.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections following the Vehicle Inspection Checklist.
- Conducts daily inspections of equipment used for deliveries (pallet jacks, racks, etc.).
- Reports all safety or mechanical issues immediately to the Dispatcher and Transportation Manager.
- Fuels truck daily and records all fuel card information accurately.
General Duties
- Maintains a clean cargo box and cab area after each route.
- Assists in other areas of warehouse and production as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Current Class C Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience safely operating 53 ft. box trucks.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. overhead and maneuver loaded pallets weighing 400–500 lbs. up/down lift gates and ramps.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and product racks.
- Experience with delivery routes and ability to read maps and follow directions.
- Ability to count and verify quantities for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ability to read invoices and accurately record delivery information.
- Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator as needed.
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including potential changes based on business demands.
- Ability to work on weekends in the period before and during major floral holidays.
- Other duties as assigned to support Operations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret shipping/receiving paperwork, invoices, and maps. Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to identify issues, gather and evaluate information, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to problem-solve independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear. Employee must climb into and out of truck cabs, drive 53 ft. trucks, and operate pallet jacks and product racks. Frequent walking, standing, bending, pulling, and lifting to 50 lbs. is required. The employee must maneuver loaded pallets weighing over 500 lbs. up/down lift gates or ramps. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and bend over to access files and must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
