Are you a seasoned accounting professional with expertise in sales tax and a knack for working with the public? Join our team as a Lead Sales Tax Specialist and be the primary public contact for sales tax inquiries, ensuring compliance with the KPB Sales Tax Code and policies.
What You'll Do:- Serve as the expert resource for businesses regarding the Sales Tax Code, policies, and filing requirements.
- Conduct interviews, analyze sales tax accounts, and assess penalties/interest on delinquent accounts.
- Manage key operational processes, including generating reports, maintaining records, and collaborating with IT.
- (For Lead II) Administer the online sales tax portal, provide team guidance, and assist the Supervisor with complex GL balancing and debt transfer.
- High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of accounting experience. (College-level accounting courses can substitute for up to 24 months of experience).
- Must be proficient with: 10-key by touch, typing 45 wpm, computers/spreadsheet programs.
- Required: Excellent ability to work effectively and communicate clearly with the public.
- Desirable: Governmental accounting and data processing experience.
