Ken Smith Inc. (KSI) is a family-owned leader in security and banking equipment service and installation across the Carolinas. We’re seeking a self-motivated, independent Service Technician based in Roanoke, VA.
This full-time position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CCTV systems, alarm systems (DMP), ATMs, TCRs, pneumatic tube systems, vaults, and teller equipment. You’ll be one of the primary technician for the region, responsible for handling all service calls independently with remote support from our Charlotte office when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides maintenance on ATM banking products to include: problem diagnosis, component level repair, software troubleshooting, application reload, preventative maintenance, documentation and planning/maintaining spare parts levels.
- Performs basic to advanced installations and repairs on all ATM products (multiple manufacturers).
- Travels to client's site for troubleshooting, repair and installation.
- Installs and services electronic and physical security products including pulling wire per applicable specifications and codes.
- Tests all installed/serviced equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with customers' requirements and all applicable codes.
- Independently troubleshoot, service and install a wide variety of electronic and physical security equipment including alarms, cameras, and door access control modules.
- Communicates important project status information to management and customers as necessary.
- Maintains and controls assigned truck stock inventory in an organized manner.
- Ensures company vehicle is maintained according to established standards.
- Minimal overnight travel; occasional after-hours calls
Qualifications:
- Highly self-sufficient, resourceful problem solver who can work alone in the field.
- Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and comfort with hand tools
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11 based Operating Systems.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- NCR Certification is a plus.
- Willing to train on security equipment.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time if necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
