What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Coordinator – Powersports position at Ken's Service and Sales?
Service Coordinator – Powersports
Ken’s Service and Sales
Ken’s Service and Sales is looking for a customer-focused, organized person to help keep our Service Department moving.
This is a service-focused position working between our customers, technicians, and Parts Department. This is not a vehicle sales position.
You don't need years of powersports experience. We're looking for someone who likes helping customers, can stay organized, and is willing to dig a little deeper to solve a problem.
What You'll Do
- Greet customers, answer phones and provide service updates
- Write and update repair orders
- Monitor parts requested by technicians
- Look up, order, receive and stage parts for repairs
- Check inventory before ordering parts
- Research superseded and updated part numbers
- Check whether older parts on our shelves can fulfill a newer part or kit
- Track parts already on order and backorders
- Help keep technicians supplied with what they need
- Help maintain accurate parts inventory
- Jump in and help where needed — we're a small dealership and work as a team
The goal: Keep the technicians working, the repair orders moving, and the customer informed.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
- Customer focused and friendly
- Organized and dependable
- Comfortable using computers
- Good at following through
- Willing to investigate instead of stopping at the first answer
- Mechanically interested and willing to learn
- Comfortable handling several things at once
Powersports, automotive, parts, service, equipment, or mechanical experience is helpful, but not required for the right person.
If you've worked at an auto parts store, repair shop, equipment dealer, rental counter, service department, hardware store, or similar customer-focused business, your experience could be a great fit.
A Little About the Job
Sometimes the computer says we don't have a part — but an older part number on our shelf may be exactly what we need. Sometimes several individual parts have been replaced by one new kit.
We want someone who will ask:
“Do we already have what we need before I order something else?”
That's the mindset we're looking for.
This position's home is Service, but we're a small dealership. Everyone helps when something needs to get done.
We'll teach the right person our products and systems. We need you to bring the customer service, organization, and willingness to learn.
