Duties
- Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to established specifications and customer requests
- Ensure all meat products are handled safely, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Package meat products efficiently for retail display or wholesale distribution, maintaining quality during handling
- Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable guidance on different cuts and cooking methods
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, tools, and equipment to meet health department standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures during all stages of meat processing to prevent contamination
- Support inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies or quality concerns
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or food preparation, preferably within the meat or butcher industry. Not Required, but helpful.
- Demonstrated knife skills and proficiency in meat cutting techniques
- Familiarity with food safety practices and sanitation protocols in a commercial kitchen or retail environment
- Experience with packaging, labeling, and product presentation in a food industry setting
- Background in customer service or restaurant experience is a plus, highlighting strong communication skills
- Knowledge of culinary techniques related to meat preparation and food handling regulations
- Kitchen experience that emphasizes attention to detail, efficiency, and safety standards
