About the Role
We are seeking a Field Cost Accountant (FCA) to support project operations by managing cost tracking, procurement, and on-site coordination. This is a hands-on, field-based role that works closely with Project Managers to ensure projects run efficiently, stay on budget, and meet contractual requirements.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced environments, problem-solving, and being directly involved in project execution—not just behind a desk.
What You’ll Do
Project Cost & Reporting
- Track and manage all project costs (labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors)
- Prepare daily cost reports (EPA 1900 / RCMS) and maintain accurate financial data
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost visibility for project leadership
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Source vendors, obtain quotes, and manage purchase orders, service agreements, and change orders
- Perform cost analysis and support vendor selection
- Ensure compliance with procurement processes and policies
Operations & Field Support
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, and site logistics
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to field teams
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with safety and reporting requirements
Team Collaboration
- Partner with Project Managers and field leadership to support project execution
- Act as the go-to resource for project tracking, reporting, and coordination
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in administrative, accounting, or project support roles
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, field environment
- Willingness to travel and work on project sites
Preferred:
- Experience in construction, environmental, or field-based projects
- Knowledge of cost tracking, procurement, or accounting processes
Work Environment
- Field-based role (jobsite trailers and active project locations)
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and active construction environments
- Travel and potential relocation depending on project needs
