What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant -up to 20 hrs./week - Assisted Living Facility position at Kemper House Strongsville?
Kemper House Strongsville is looking for a caring, patient, and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant for our Residential Care Facility.
The successful candidate would have a general knowledge of building systems, life safety systems (fire alarm, sprinklers, etc.), plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance needs of a 24-hour facility.
This position is 14-20 hours per week, 8 hrs. every Friday required, plus other scheduled hours as determined in agreement by Administrator and employee. Shared on-call responsibilities in case of emergency or urgent maintenance needs.
Under the Direction of the Maintenance Director, main duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning, Preparing, Painting, Repair and Rehab of resident apartments
- General maintenance and care of facility
- Maintenance, cleaning, and repair of floors and carpeting
- Oversight of Contractors as needed
- Implementation of safety procedures
- Keep building in compliance with all State of Ohio, OSHA, and HUD rules and regulations
- Act as a safety manager for facility ; ensure continued compliance with all Fire Safety rules and regulations
- Keep record of Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned.

Knowledge of Ohio Department of Health rules and regulations not necessary, but are beneficial.
