Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of CAD Technician/Detailer is to support the engineering department with general office functions, CAD layouts, and mechanical designs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate holding this job function, will be taught, and guided in the following areas:
· Produce and check 2D fabrication detail drawings from 3D models, utilizing AutoCAD
· Prepare Steel Summaries (Bill of Materials), Shipping Lists, and Bolt Lists utilizing Excel
· Release drawings for fabrication
· Work with fabrication shop personnel to answer questions or solve problems encountered during the manufacturing process
· Maintain CAD workstations, AutoCAD licenses, subscription renewals, and the like
· Maintain equipment, such as printers and copiers and manage paper, toner, and cartridge inventory
· Make copies of drawings and other clerical tasks as required
· Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Required Ability to Use or Operate the following:
Standard office equipment such as computer and keyboard, calculator, phone, copier, fax machine, CAD and Drafting equipment.
Education/Experience/Training/Competencies:
· An Associate Degree in the engineering field preferred
· Experience using computer aided design software such as AutoCAD and Solid Works
· Steel detailing experience with knowledge of AISC, AWS, OSHA, and MSHA standards helpful
· Must be able to visualize projects in 2D and 3D
· Solid with the MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.
· Must be able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings
· Basic understanding of building design and mechanical processes
· Must have good math skills to complete calculations and estimates

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
