Overview:
Kemira Water Solutions, Inc. is actively looking for an experienced Regional hazmat tanker driver located at our East Chicago, IN terminal. This regional company driver position provides a direct line of support to our Manufacturing Coagulants, Industry & Water business unit. This line of business within Kemira enables our customers to improve their water treatment and manufacturing process treatment efficiency by providing high-performing chemical delivery.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Highest degree of safety for yourself, our customers, and the motoring public.
- Direct responsibility for all commercial equipment handled in a safe and professional manner.
- Loading and unloading (air compressor) of manufactured bulk liquid hazmat commodities to our customer base via tanker trailer.
- Completing delivery paperwork and required inspections.
- Complying with federal, state, and local regulations in regard to the safe transportation and handling of hazardous materials.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Minimum 3-years of experience driving a Class A tractor-trailer - required.
- Minimum 2-years of experience transporting bulk liquid chemicals in a cargo tank - preferred.
- Class A CDL with X endorsement (tanker and hazmat) - required.
- Ability to pass an on-road skills and knowledge test, DOT medical exam, and background check - required.
- Clean MVR and driving record (2.0 points or less)
- Safety focused, ability to clearly communicate, and a customer service mindset.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and from heights up to 15 feet.
- Strong organizational skills, basic math skills, and a high attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of DOT rules, regulations, and ELD compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
