Kemco Aerospace is a manufacturing organization working closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Bell, Northrop Grumman and several others to deliver complex design-to-build and build-to print assemblies. Kemco Aerospace provides these assemblies in support of in-service platforms, such as: H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER. Kemco Aerospace is part of the Crestview Aerospace family which is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL, and employs approximately 350 professionals.
Description
The Aerospace Assembly Technician performs precision desktop assembly of aerospace components and subassemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role requires excellent fine motor skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with small components and specialized hand tools in a controlled manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform precision desktop assembly of aerospace components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and assembly procedures.
- Utilize fine motor skills to assemble small components, fasteners, and intricate parts.
- Operate precision hand tools and small assembly equipment.
- Inspect parts prior to and during assembly to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Perform basic inspection checks using measuring tools as required.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations consistent with aerospace manufacturing standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with process improvements.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve assembly issues.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work with very small parts and components for extended periods.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing assembly, medical device assembly, or aerospace assembly preferred.
- Experience working in a precision or controlled manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic assembly drawings or instructions.
Work Environment:
- Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
- Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.

Physical Requirements:
Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
