Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is a hard-working, team player with a favorable work and/or training history. The physician should be able to independently administer and interpret routine and special diagnostic tests in an expedient and professional manner. Candidate should also be able to effectively collaborate with referring physicians and other professionals to provide optimum care for each patient. Kelsey-Seybold Speech Pathologist doctors treat children, adolescents and adults at Kelsey-Seybolds Main Campus location and at neighborhood clinics throughout Houston.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following. Other Assignments, Projects and Duties May Be Required:
Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults. SLPs will work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, which may physicians, audiologists, and ENT physicians.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology(CCC-SLP) must earn a graduate degree
- Speech-language pathologists should also possess the following specific qualities:
- Communication skills, Compassion, Critical-thinking skills, Detail oriented, Listening skills, and Patience.
- Graduate of an approved training program in the United States.
- Applicants for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology(CCC-SLP) must earn a graduate degree, successfully complete the required clinical experiences, and pass a national examination.
