Sit-Down Clamp Forklift Operator

Kelly Services is currently seeking a Sit-Down Clamp Forklift Operator for immediate hire at a large 3PL facility in Port Wentworth, GA (31407)

Position Details

• Location: Port Wentworth, GA
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 2nd Shift (6:00 PM – 2:00 AM)
• Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
• Overtime: Mandatory and required

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment, including a sit-down clamp forklift. This role involves moving, locating, stacking, and counting merchandise, along with maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting customer service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using forklifts and related equipment
• Safely unload inbound shipments and transport products to storage locations
• Pull, prepare, and verify products for shipment to ensure accuracy in quantity and type
• Perform picking duties in accordance with customer service standards
• Move products from staging or storage areas into trailers
• Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following established procedures
• Maintain records and reports to support inventory control and security
• Assist with physical inventory and perform cycle counts as needed
• Report safety concerns and inventory discrepancies promptly to management
• Complete equipment inspection forms prior to operation
• Utilize RF scanning equipment to maintain inventory accuracy
• Ensure proper stock rotation

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of recent forklift & warehouse equipment experience required.
• Ability to stand or walk for 10–12 hours and lift up to 50 pounds without restriction
• Capability to perform frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching (above and below shoulder level)
• Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperatures; facility spans over a quarter mile
• Availability for extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to obtain your forklift certification
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency in Excel and general computer knowledge
• Basic understanding of equipment safety and operational procedures
