Press Brake Operator (Mechanical)

Pay: $17.00 – $22.00/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Press Brake Operator to join our team in Gastonia, NC. This role requires hands-on experience operating and setting up non-CNC (manual) press brake machines to form metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.
This is not a CNC role—candidates must be comfortable working with older mechanical press brakes, including manual setup, tooling selection, and forming processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate mechanical (non-CNC) press brake machines
- Select appropriate dies and tooling based on job requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Calculate and apply bend allowances and tolerances
- Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate forming of materials
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (tape measure, gauges, etc.)
- Maintain production quality and efficiency standards
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Required: Experience operating mechanical press brakes (non-CNC)
- Strong understanding of tooling, die selection, and machine setup
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of bend allowance and tolerances
- Ability to read and use a measuring tape accurately
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs
- Frequent bending, reaching, and handling materials
Work Environment
- Manufacturing / fabrication setting
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment
- PPE required at all times
