This position is responsible for facilitating communication between English and Japanese-speaking individuals by interpreting conversations, as well as translating documents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare a Japanese version of minutes of operational and business conference held in English.
- Coordinate activities between President and managers or other supervisory personnel.
- Translate legal and financial correspondence, and production/manufacturing business documents from English to Japanese or vise versa.
- Make travel arrangements.
- Interpret conversations/meetings and translate documents. (Legal, financial, manufacturing, medical, administrative, school, and domestic items).
- Language assistance: interpret and translate conversations and documents relating to business and some domestic issues (letters and memos from schools, banks, licensing office, etc.)
- Arrange house/apartment, utilities, automobile and house insurance for a new Advisor.
- Assist school registration and meeting with teachers during normal working time.
- Accompany Advisors to medical institutions and provide interpret conversations.
- Prepare company HR and legal documents (SS and IRS ITIN number application, etc.) and accompany to the places for personal appearance.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
- At least 3 years of bilingual executive secretarial work experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Four-year college degree is highly favorable.
- Quality product of translation (both oral and in writing) in a clear understanding of the subjects of the conversation or document beside language skills.
- Ability to produce work products in a timely manner to meet the requester’s needs and satisfaction: oral summary, written summary, word-for-word translations, and verbatim oral translation.
