Buyer, Temporary Assignment
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Roanoke, TX, is seeking an experienced Buyer for a temporary opportunity that may continue through the end of the year. This role requires buying experience for a manufacturing company, strong SAP knowledge, and the ability to take ownership in a fast-paced procurement environment.
Job Details
Pay: $45.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, must be flexible, overtime is common
Location: Roanoke, TX
Employment Type: Temporary, possible through the end of the year
Responsibilities
- Review approved requisitions and create purchase orders
- Manage the purchase order lifecycle from creation through closing
- Work with suppliers to obtain quotes and evaluate pricing, delivery schedules, and other key details
- Maintain communication with suppliers and internal teams
- Help resolve purchasing, receiving, invoicing, delivery, and quality-related concerns
- Perform purchase order history research to support discrepancy resolution
- Support internal teams with purchasing processes, supplier sourcing, and SAP requirements
- Use SAP to manage purchasing activity and support procurement workflows
- Use Excel to organize and analyze purchasing information
- Assist with purchasing process improvements and best practices
- Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced procurement environment
Qualifications
- Buying experience for a manufacturing company is required
- Strong SAP experience required
- SAP S/4HANA experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills preferred, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders
- Ability to evaluate supplier quotes and support purchasing decisions
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams
- Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and problem-solving ability
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
